Chattahoochee Coffee Company is Now Open at the Eddy (Riverview Landing) in Smyrna, GA
Over the course of Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, Chattahoochee Coffee Company unveiled its third location to the public in the Atlanta metro area.
Located in the Riverview Landing mixed-used community on the Chattahoochee River in Smyrna, this newest location of Chattahoochee Coffee Company is tucked inside The Eddy apartment complex. This new location of Chattahoochee Coffee Co. currently calls Reformation Brewery as its neighbor; coming at the end of February 2020 is the opening of another neighbor, Grand Champion Barbecue.
Atlanta Coffee Shops (ACS) was on location to preview the newly opened Chattahoochee Coffee Co. and chat with the owner, Kylene Compaan, about this third location. Unlike previous explorations of Atlanta coffee shops, this visit to the new Chattahoochee Coffee Co. was co-organized in partnership with Chattahoochee Coffee Co. as a meet-up for ACS followers and ACS Newsletter subscribers (if you aren’t subscribed, you can do so here; the newsletter is sent out approximately once a month or so). Thank you to Chattahoochee Coffee Co. in hosting this meet-up!

The mixed-used development at the Eddy has been—literally—a decade in the making. The luxury apartment complex —the Eddy— appears to be complete. Chattahoochee Coffee Co. occupies a corner of the complex. ACS has been eyeing the opening of this location since last summer, with some delays pushing it from the Fall 2019 launch to January 2020. The first day of operation of Chattahoochee Coffee Co. at the Eddy was on Friday, January 17, 2020. (Please see the very bottom of this post for current operating hours).

With respect to parking: there is plenty of free parking on the street on Riverview Road. Alternatively, drive around the back of the Eddy apartment complex to find dedicated free retail parking shared amongst Reformation Brewery and Chattahoochee Coffee Co. (these spaces are marked “retail” parking).

The Eddy apartment complex faces the Chattahoochee River. Here is a brief 360 degree video tour of the area. Chatting with Kylene (the owner of Chattahoochee Coffee Co.), she explained that this entire area will be “open container” so that you can enjoy a beer from the adjacent Reformation Brewery and walk or relax along the river bank. This is a welcome element to those that are wanting to make a day tour of exploring this development—coffee, barbecue, and beer.
Interior Views
The interior of Chattahoochee Coffee Co. is gorgeous, with a river/canoe theme found throughout. Some interior photos that showcase the space appear below. The center of the space features comfortable lounge-like chairs where you can meet with friends or colleagues for coffee and conversation.

There is plenty of seating at the new Chattahoochee Coffee Co. at the Eddy. Notably, there are four small tables for one to two people, lounge-like chairs at the center of the space, a communal-like table near the bar area with plenty of chargers/outlets, and additional bar seating near the front of the coffee shop. There is free Wi-Fi here too, so this is a great go-to spot to get some work or studying done.

The back of the coffee shop shares its space with the management offices of The Eddy apartment complex. If you end up grabbing a seat on one of the stools seen below, you may be asked about your interest in finding a rental unit in the apartment complex.
ACS went on a mini-tour of the space behind Chattahoochee Coffee Company. The Eddy is currently working on building out a co-working space inside the complex, with majority of the construction already finished. Most likely, these small spaces will rent out on a monthly basis.

Perhaps the most striking visual element is the shelving and back wall seen below. It’s elegantly presented and the live plants add a vibrant touch to the space. The canoe painting as the centerpiece of the coffee shop is beautiful.

Final Impressions
Chattahoochee Coffee Co. has another winner in its newest location at the Eddy. The seating is plentiful, the coffee program is solid, and the interior is beautifully decorated. While not as picturesque as the original Vinings location of Chattahoochee Coffee Co. (which ACS called one of Atlanta’s best kept secrets), ACS predicts that this new coffee shop will become a popular destination for those looking to get good coffee in the Smyrna and Mableton neighborhoods/areas of Atlanta. It is, as explained above, an ideal destination for great coffee and to get work/studying done.
Congratulations to Kylene and the entire Chattahoochee Coffee Co. staff on their grand opening at the Eddy! Stay tuned to Atlanta Coffee Shops on Instagram or to Chattahoochee Coffee Co. to find out when the coffee shop plans to hold an official grand opening launch/party.
